There are so many great outfits in the POW and such versatility with the Beyond Tee! But, this time I do have a favorite. I adore the elegant Chic Classy and Faux Fur Sunday Best. Unfortunately, I wrote this after the cabi Fall 2016 season has closed, which means this amazing top is no longer available via the traditional means. It is also such a unique piece that I’ve been unable to find an alternative to suggest. However, if you must have this piece, here are some ways you may be able to get it:

  • First, always try your stylist. She may have a sample available, know of another stylist with a sample available, or have other ways to get it. If you do not have one you may reach out to my stylist Joni Allen (via email or phone: 770 502-5243 [call or text]), Leigh Cheatwood-Harris (a friend’s stylist whom I have worked with also and can recommend: email and her site), or find a cabi stylist near you.
  • Second, check out resale, such as the Facebook groups or apps that allow people to sell their cabi or ebay.
  • Third, wait until August, when the outlets will get the Fall 2016 line and to go or call an outlet to see if they have this. Many outlets will allow you to order over the phone and then ship it to you.

Pleated Star Week in Review

Our eleventh POW (Piece of the Week) is the Pleated Star Skirt from Canvas by Lands’ End, a pretty pleated skirt with a descending star print. This skirt is perfect for summer, but can be rocked in fall too. With its soft femininity, we tended to mix it with tough contrasts, for fun and pretty, strong and feminine style. We learned how to style it for a geek chic look, a special occasion with a walk on the beach, with a crisp white blouse for work, nautical business casual, and more. We focused on some great transitional summer-to-fall tips and easy changes. We even highlighted some versatile piece s to style it with like the It’s a Wrap Shirt and the Recess Tank and Recess Topper. What a versatile skirt! Plus, many of these styles and tips can be applied to another pleated or fancy skirt.

Michelle POW in Review

Our fourth POW (Piece of the Week) is the cabi Spring 2016 Michelle Cardigan. With this classic and graceful cardigan, we learned about nautical style, new neutrals, analogous color schemes, trying on trends even if we doubt them, flipping how we wear some pieces, and power dressing! In two weeks, we styled this striking cardigan from career to casual to special occasion. While perfect for work, the Michelle Cardigan can easily work for nearly any style situation you have.

Now, let’s review the week!

Plaid POW in Review

Our third POW (Piece of the Week)  is the L.L. Bean Slightly Fitted Scotch Plaid Shirt in Deep Evergreen Tartan! This was a fun one. In three weeks, we took this comfortable plaid flannel and added faux fur, a geek tee, a lace skirt, pearls, a black jacket, ripped jeans, and a nice cardigan--going from career to casual to special occasion. I proved myself wrong by styling a flannel shirt into such a rage. Just goes to show how versatile any garment can be with the right styling!

So, let's see what I did!

Manic Flannel Monday: For a cozy yet professional look, take one casual flannel and add lots of professional pieces.

Outfit: L.L. Bean Slightly Fitted Scotch Plaid Shirt in Deep Evergreen Tartan, cabi Fall 2104 Billi cardigan, cabi Spring 2013 Bon Voyage skirt, belt a few seasons old and from Target, shoes are also older and from Mod Cloth, cabi Fall 2014 Vintage Stud earrings, gunmetal and silver bar necklace by Shine Chaser Jewelry.
